Research & Development

Indigenous innovation. Built at IIT Delhi.

EVIT's R&D team works continuously on improving the effective combination of individual components, in order to establish high-yield, optimally coordinated Electric Vehicle systems for the Indian market.

Innovation Areas

Where our engineers spend their time.

AC & DC Chargers

AC 3 kW to 44 kW and DC 15 kW to 120 kW — Bharat AC001/DC001, Type 2, CCS.

On-board Chargers

1.2 kW on-board chargers for electric two- and three-wheelers.

Battery Technology

Joint program with Murata, Japan on battery technology and lithium-based packs.

High-Power Systems

Joint development with ST Microelectronics on high-power EV systems.

Battery Swapping

Battery swapping solution co-developed with Micromax and Napino R&D teams.

OCPP CMS

Indigenous OCPP-based Charger Management Central System, launched 2020.

Solar Integration

Solar Organic Cells at KIT Germany; Solar Micro Grid and Biomass Energy with TERI.

Payment & IT Stack

Payment mechanisms, IT infrastructure and end-to-end EVSE connectivity software.

EV Management Software

EV management software for aggregators and corporate fleet customers.

Testing Capabilities

Validation across the stack.

OCPP Testing

Every EVIT charger ships with OCPP 1.6J (upgradable to OCPP 2.0). Validated against our in-house Charger Management Central System and tier-1 third-party backends — with full session-by-session test logs.

V2G & High-Power R&D

EVIT's active high-power program with ST Microelectronics anchors our roadmap toward bidirectional vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capable hardware — alongside DC CCS chargers up to 120 kW already in series production.

A formal V2G test bench is on the R&D roadmap.

Hardware Validation

Continuous quality controls during manufacturing at our Napino partner works, with strict operational checks aligned to IEC and Bharat standards — OV/UV, OC, short circuit, surge, over-temperature, ground fault, residual current and emergency-shutdown protections validated unit-by-unit.

Standards & Certifications

Compliance across the full range.

The EVIT charger portfolio is certified across Bharat and international standards, covering AC Bharat (AC001), AC Type 2, DC Bharat (DC001) and DC CCS variants.
